There are no requirements for joining concerning rank, class, or time availability. However, we do require that you speak English or can adequately communicate in English without hesitation. Also, if you have just started Final Fantasy XIV, you may apply but we may ask you to wait a week before joining the shell to make sure that you are enjoying the game rather than rage quitting like many people. Additionally, if you join Dark Matter we require you to register on our website before you may receive an invite to the linkshell.
While this is open to everyone including those who have reached the current max level (R50), I would like to especially invite those who have yet had the chance to explore Eorzea such as the areas around Ishgard and Mor Dhana, fight NMs, and those who have just dabbled in a few classes but aren't fully engaged in the game yet. Don't worry! This is why Dark Matter was created, we will grow and tackle things together.

A: Mostly. What we're really looking for are players who have been playing for a while but don't have a core group of friends to enjoy the game with.
Q: I'm already R50, or have a couple R50s, and have explored most of the content that's available already. Can I still join?
A: Yes. We ask that you be willing to help other members, whether its guildleves or pointing out where something is.
Q: What timezone is this shell primarily for?
A: We are mostly USA timezones (PST, CT, and EST). It is up to you to figure out if this shell will be right for you concerning activity. If you are not in USA timezones, you may see an empty shell most of the time. Please consider this when you're applying.
Q: What is the future of Dark Matter?
A: My vision is that Dark Matter will be a strong core group of friends who will continue to help each other and go on adventures with new content updates.
